Best RSS Feed Readers
Hello, World! 👋
Didn’t finish this post, got bored, and it was kind of dead ends, use thunder bird for PC, Feeder for android, and IOS. easy.
I recently made this site, and found a RSS feature. This got me wondering, what IS the best RSS reader?
So I tried out a bunch to found out which one I prefer, and the pros, and the cons.
PC
Feedly (A web based approach?)
Pros:
- Syncs well
- Decent UI
- Integrates with other apps. Cons:
- Needs internet
- Closed source
- Paid??? (dumb)
From what I found researching it isn’t a well pick, and it’s extremely bloated, and I wouldn’t ever use it.
RSS Owl (Windows, Mac, and Linux???)
Pros:
- Has a search feature
- Tags
- Folder
- Open source (meaning you can see the code)
- Gets the job done Neither bad, nor good:
- Uses Java Cons:
- Discontinued
- Really old GUI (look like my grandma would use it, or windows forms)
- REALLY basic It’s amazing for windows 7, but in current day, it doesn’t hold up, if you have 4GB of ram on Linux, go for it. It doesn’t really hold up, and feels ancient.
QuiteRSS
Pros:
- Filters
- Tags
- Folders
